Concert Flyer: Steve Sizemore Group, Rock House, Brick House Blend

I’ve been promoting music events off and on for over ten years. Since I’m back “on” again with my band Brick House Blend, I am once again designing and handing out posters to promote shows I’m involved in. This show occurred here in Lexington a few weeks ago at The Attic Bar, and also featured local rock mainstays Steve Sizemore Group. I was going for a vintage feel with the peach and sherbet color scheme and halftone “rock n’ roll babes”.

For cost effectiveness, I also designed a small, 4-up black and white “handbill” version of the letter sized flyer to distribute. Our print and web shilling of the event was successful, as we had a much larger than expected turnout!

Dogwood Lakes Camping Resort

Happy Halloween from DerekPrice.net! This is an 11×17″ poster that I designed a few years ago for Dogwood Lakes Camping Resort. I had a lot of fun dressing up the company mascot, Top Dog, in a variety of costumes for events and promotions. This time around, the friendly pooch was transformed into a not-too-scary vampire who invited those who dared to enter a “haunted” mansion. The requisite seasonal colors and objects such as pumpkins, bats, and gravestones were in place, as the campground staff prepared to scare up a good time for visitors.

Main Street Costumes “Zombie Walk” Print Ad

Longtime friends Clint and Lori Cobb built their successful costume shop Main Street Costumes from the ground up. They built on the success of their eBay store with a brick and mortar that fast became a fixture in my small hometown of Greenville, KY. When they started planning a “Zombie Walk” event to benefit a local charity, Clint and Lori called on me to create a promotional design. This design was featured on 3′x5′ banners, post cards, t-shirts, and other mediums. The event was a huge success, drawing over 350 costumed “zombies” to Main Street in the heart of Muhlenberg County.
